Tom has led the British Coatings Federation as Chief Executive Officer since 2012.  He has extensive experience in the paints and coatings industry, having worked for AkzoNobel for 19 years in the Vehicle Refinish and Decorative Coatings Sectors in the UK, The Netherlands, Eastern Europe, and the USA in senior sales and marketing roles.

Voted Leader of the Year by the Trade Association Forum in 2014, the BCF was named UK Trade Association of the Year in both 2017 and 2018 under Tom’s leadership.

Tom was recently elected President of the World Coatings Council, where he will serve a two-year term, alongside his current role at BCF.

Tom has a BA business degree from Bournemouth University. He is married with three children and, to use his own words, is passionate about cycling, football, and real ale.
