Houshang received a PhD in petro-chemistry in 1983 from ULP “Louis Pasteur University – Strasbourg”, followed by a 2nd PhD in polymer sciences in 1987 from Strasbourg Polymer Research Center.

In December 1986 after seven years working on his PhDs in CNRS & Total laboratories, he joined Rohm and Haas Company (subsidiary of Dow Chemical Company) and worked as: R&D laboratory group leader, plant quality lab manager, European Raw materials Quality coordinator, European product stewardship and sustainable development manager, European Technology Awareness and Innovation Manager.

Houshang is Life Cycle thinking, Life Cycle Assessment, Sustainable Development expert and Scientific Board Member of InTech “Intech is a leading global publisher of Journals and Books within the fields of Science, Technology and Medicine”.

He had an active participation in different European organizations and EC working groups such as:
