Dr Andrew Taylor was appointed as ASFP Technical Officer in January 2018. He offers more than 30 years of experience in the fire protection coating industry.

Having worked in the field of fire resistance product research and development and testing, Andy initially worked on reactive coatings for steelwork at Leighs Paints/Sherwin Williams, and more recently on both intumescent coatings and firestopping at tremco-illbruck.

Andy has worked on various ASFP, CEPE, CEN and BSi committees involved in writing standards and guidance. He has a chemistry degree from Bristol University, and a PhD in the material science of intumescent coatings from Manchester University.
