Bill Atkinson joined the Solvents Industry Association as Chief Executive in September 2025. He has 25 years of experience of providing advice on the hazards, properties and reactions of chemicals to Governments, emergency services, other public bodies and the private sector.

He also provides advice on complying with chemical legislation. eg. CLP/GHS, DGSA, and  is a qualified Dangerous Goods Safety Adviser (Road and Rail). Bill is also a retained Scientific Advisor to West Midlands Fire Service.
