Vahid obtained his M.Sc. in manufacturing engineering in 2011 from Amirkabir University of Technology (AUT), Tehran, where he began to learn about laser technology in manufacturing. He pursued as a senior R&D engineer in Mobarakeh Steel Company (MSC) as the biggest steel producer in Middle East and then moved to the UK in 2015 to start his PhD in laser and manufacturing group at University of Birmingham. His doctoral research was in collaboration with the Korea Institute for Advancement of Technology (KIAT) to produce high aspect ratio micro holes in ceramic substrate for electronic applications. In 2019 he started his professional carrier in laser manufacturing as a technical research officer for AMTECAA project providing advanced manufacturing technologies for SMEs in Midlands. His research interests are mostly focused on Laser based manufacturing in particular implementing laser modules for functional surface structuring, texturing and polishing.
