Dr Anna Steel

Anna holds a PhD in Colour Science from Heriot-Watt University and has over 15 years’ experience in the coatings industry. She began her career at AkzoNobel, developing point-of-sale tinting solutions for leading brands including Dulux and Cuprinol, and later specialised in digital colour methods to improve internal colour processes.

During her 12 years at AkzoNobel, Anna led colour-related projects across multiple sites and business units, including Decorative Paints and Powder Coatings. She subsequently joined John Myland Ltd. as Head of Colour Development and Technical Manager, working closely with production, purchasing, and commercial teams.

Now based in Northumberland, Anna works as a Technical Consultant and is an active member of the OCCA Council and Publications Committee.
