After a PhD in Polymer Photochemistry the author spent a year synthesising drugs for cows in Africa. Following this year at May and Baker Dagenham he spent 6 years researching into the EB and UV curable formulations for use on a variety of substrates. From 1992 to 2020 was employed by Becker Industrial Coatings in their Long Term Development Laboratory looking at radiation curing for coil coatings as well as other technologies. He collaborated with several universities on projects investigating: adhesion, mechanical properties and weathering.
