How strongly does a liquid droplet adhere to a solid surface?

Work of adhesion occurs in numerous daily applications between solid surfaces and liquids (eg. inks, glues, varnishes paints etc…). In most cases, it is crucial to control this force and therefore understand the fundamental mechanisms behind. Various measuring methods are available to determine the quality of adhesion between two systems.

This presentation will provide insight into the direct measurement of work of adhesion using the Dataphysics Tensiometer DCAT.
