This presentation will show how low viscosity HDI polyisocyanates will perform in water-borne 2KPU and polyaspartic application.

The use of hydrophobic polyisocyanates in water-borne 2KPU applications usually requests high amount of co-solvents due to their poor compatibility. Thereof our original ultra-low viscosity HDI polyisocyanate has been developed to bridge all these gaps.

It will be shown that our ultra-low viscosity HDI polyisocyanate gives coating formulating companies the opportunity to create water-borne 2KPU systems based on a hydrophobic polyisocyanate with reduced co-solvent and improved optical properties and keeping good mechanical as well as chemical resistance performance of the related film.

In addition, when our ultra-low viscosity HDI polyisocyanate is applied to the polyaspartic coating system, coating performance such as drying property, hardness, and weather resistance can be maintained while lowering the viscosity of the formulation (while attaining VOC reduction) than the standard trimer.
