With the fluctuation of Titanium prices, the ability to have a cost-effective formulation becomes ever more important. The ability of Curran® to significantly improve Opacity, can allow for up to a 6% reduction of TiO2 within a paint formulation which inherently could provide a more cost-effective paint.

Further reductions of raw materials such as solvents is possible with Curran® which can reduce the overall VOC content of the paint.  The unique structure of Curran® can allow for reductions in coalescent and open time extenders without compromising key properties such as Mud Cracking, Open Time and Wet Scrub Resistance.

This presentation will provide insight into the optimisation of a decorative paint formulation using low levels of Curran® to achieve reductions in raw materials whilst maintaining or improving the properties of a standard paint sample.
