SurfexGraphene as a 2D nanomaterial has been extensively researched as a new additive to improve barrier performance, reduce corrosion and extend service life in protective coatings. Previous results have demonstrated significant uplifts in anticorrosive performance in solvent and water-based coatings through the use of graphene nanoplatelets (GNPs), presenting new opportunities for improved protective coatings with extended service life. With an increasing focus on sustainability within the paints and coatings market, as well the chemicals industry in general, AGM have developed a range of bio-based dispersions of graphene. These products not only designed to be better for the environment, but are easy to use, safe to handle while allowing the performance enhancements of graphene to be realised in the end user’s system.
